Hi Achim,
I'm 63 years old and runs for 15 months regularly three times a week 5, 8 and 10 to 15 kilometers, depending on your mood. Also I ride with the bike into the office, out and back about 22 kilometers. For some time my thighs hurt, either running as well as on the day after, like a muscle ache. Because magnesium helps? I must say that I have a slight osteoporosis and regularly take calcium D3. Is the magnesium?
Sincerely, Joachim

Ongoing Suffering: Oh, Pain Is On!
Dear Joachim,
aching legs are basically no first bad sign, but the proof that in the muscles something happens. With our
simple training rules you avoid that the line between good training and strain is exceeded.
Viele Grüße, Achim
Dear Joachim,
Yes, calcium and magnesium are tolerated, it's no problem. You should see only the two preparations are not taken simultaneously but delayed. But if the complaints with your help, I can not answer. Perhaps the burden on the days on which you walk and bike going, just very high and then it would be pure and simple muscle ache, which brought some time to smoke.
Best regards, Dr. Dirk Pajonk
Dear Joachim,
Pensum your sounds in fact very extensive. Basically, your sporting commitment very beautiful, but also give you some rest and relaxation. Maybe you leave it for two weeks times with two units running and lets some air in your life, instead of always just to meet the workload. Anyway should you have a tolerable rate of loading and discharge to find out what the bottom line is more effective than constantly much to run.
In peace greets you, your clipboard-Karrass
Hello,
after I've recently just gone underground'm icy, I'm now the main stress foot hurt and the side on the outside of the thigh, just above the knee. Is not bad, but annoying. Someone knows what it is, and whether to order the DOC to? Or I can even cure?

Dear Jutta,
first of all times is important to know whether the pain load dependent, that is: Are the problems worse when running or is it a steady pain that you already did the normal walking? There are two possibilities: Probably that there is a muscular problem and most so-called tractus iliotibialis. Just try, if you replace the pain with strain to reach it. The second possibility would be a problem on the bone, but for what I do not think very likely. If the symptoms persist for longer or even get worse, you should trust your doctor to consult.
Best regards, Dr. Dirk Pajonk
Hello Jutta,
it is not uncommon that after walking on snow or frozen ground muscular problems. It makes involuntary movements Dodge brings more strength and effort in order not auszurutschen. Under certain circumstances it is also very cautious and a bit uptight. The result can then be exactly your description, that due to the additional strain muscles, ligaments and joints respond. An extensive and prophylaxis by Dehnprogramm sauna or relaxing after such trips are on snow and ice is very helpful.

Hi Achim,
since the end of October, I have (39 years old and 76 kilograms) problems at the femoral neck bones and the hips. I run for eight years and was my workload in the last year to five times weekly to increase ten kilometers. My Orthopädin diagnosed after X-ray a slight overload inflammation, devoted to me the anti-inflammatory painkiller diclofenac, a short walking break, but everything remained unchanged.
After a further consultation, she informed me that I could in the future no longer jog, it is a duplex or a wear and tear arthritis. I should change it to swim. After running four and six break microwave treatments, I had no pain and did a little test run. A week later the pain came through, and now my Orthopädin expresses the suspicion of Hüftkopfnekrose, using a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or magnetic resonance imaging in two weeks to be clarified.
How long do I have to pause if it turns out that it was only an inflammation involved? How can I tell if the infection is healed up? Can I promote the healing process? And if it is indeed a Hüftkopfnekrose, do I have to stop running?
Thanks for any information and advice, Martina
Dear Martina,
above all, it was a matter, the worst case, the idea that Hüftkopfnekrose. That would be really a reason, the burden now drastically reduced. This MRI will also show whether it is in fact so Arthrosis is wear and tear. Only after further investigation we can see, everything else would be speculation and you would hardly help.
Best regards, Dr. Dirk Pajonk
